Are you in the minivan mom club?

Are you like me and have a whole tribe of people in your crew/family?

There's something about the cross from 2 to 3 children that leaves you feeling like there's no such thing as traveling light anymore.

We made do with what we had for a good while, in part because I loved my car. The other part, because we didn't want to spend money on what I really wanted.

We took the plunge some months back and got the oversized SUV I wanted.

But hubs would always jokingly say he was gonna get me a minivan.  Claiming he just knew I was gonna be a soccer mom. I just wasn't buying into what he was selling.

But recently, I had the opportunity to have an up close and personal look at the all new Toyota Sienna. Thanks to the wonderful people over at driveshop I had the opportunity to see what these modern day minivans have to offer.

Let me tell you the greatest of it being room, and lots of it.

But here is a short-list of some of the features that the Toyota Sienna has to offer:

  • Advanced Airbag System
  • Blind spot monitor
  • Dual Power Sliding Doors
  • Dual Moonroofs
  • Power Folding Third Row Seat
  • Smart Key Push Button Start
  • Hi Resolution Wide Screen TV
  • Bluetooth Technology

If you want to have a look at the inside for yourself, check out this short preview video.

If you still are not sold on why you need a minivan for yourself momma, I have checked with some moms who are out here rocking their minivans.  They gave me 3 reasons you might need to join the minivan mom club.

Minivan Moms Club

Less Arguments

There is nothing worse than to be stacked on top of each other for a ride. Particularly if it's a road trip. Minivans allow everyone to have space and ride comfortably.

With all that room in the minivan, everyone has space enough to not touch everyone. Which while it won't eliminate all arguments, the “stop touching me” “his arm is on me” ones should not be on the list.

You have a TV for everywhere you go

For me, this is a gift and a curse. But I'll embrace the gift part.

The gift is that my toddler will stop talking for our thirty minute ride cause he's tuned into his favorite programs.

This leaves me a break to listen to music, a podcast, or anything other than his 30 questions for thirty minutes of riding.

Mom Envy

While the Bible says we should not envy or be jealous of one another. Let's just all be honest and say it comes over us every now and again.

You my friend will be envied by the mom without the minivan struggling to get kids in and out of the car without all the ease of that sliding door.

Don't think it's true….

While I have not taken the plunge into the minivan mom club, I strongly suggest that you not only do it, but that you do it in the Toyota Sienna.  You will not regret it.

  1. I don’t think I’m ready to join the mom minivan club.. I like larger trucks better maybe you should review a larger truck to compare the difference. I’m actually looking for a truck and I want it to be safe like a minivan but stylish like a truck. Any ideas on what I should be looking for?

  2. I am a proud member of the minivan mom club! Although I fought it at first, I could not imagine my life without it. I can operate almost everything with a touch of a button.

  3. I test drove one 2 years ago. Although deeeep down I knew it made more sense, a part of me didn’t want to officially let go of “cool mom status” and go to official “soccer mom status” with the little stick figures of the whole family plastered on the back window. I looked at my self in the mirror while driving and said..” NOPE, I’M NOT READY” lol. So I went with a sporty SUV. So now the debate is mini van vs SUV with Captain seats. I think you should do a review on an SUV and compare 😉 you are gonna help me make this leap lol

    1. Good idea. I have a Yukon. I may clean it up and do a review. Orrrr reach out to GM to see if they’ll let me show you a new one! You got my wheels turning.

  4. This is all so true…I wanted an SUV but my kids want a van so bad….after looking into it really is the better choice!
